    Deadline: February 25. Must be a current resident of the state of Maryland, Must be a junior or senior at a Maryland high school, or currently attending (or plan to attend) an accredited Maryland post-secondary school (college, university, trade school, or medical school). Must be the first person in his/her immediate family to attend a Maryland accredited post-secondary school (as defined above). “Immediate family” is defined as consisting of direct family lineage, such as brothers/sisters, mothers/fathers, and grandparents on either mother’s or father’s side.

  • Economic Club scholarship
    Deadline: April 9. The Economic Club scholarship provides an award of $5,000 to select DC students who have been nominated by participating public high schools. Successful candidates will be chosen by the school’s principal and the nominating committee, based principally on academic achievement, with consideration given for other community/extracurricular activities, leadership, financial need, student essay, character evaluation form, and other personal or family attributes. Each award winner (and a chaperone) will be invited to attend a meeting of the Economic Club in May for the formal awards presentation. The application is available online at www.economicclub.org. 

  • DC Leadership 1000 Scholarship and the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation Scholarship

    Deadline: April 9. Both scholarships are open to District of Columbia Public School 12th graders and graduates, who are currently in college.  Additionally, Prince Georges County, Maryland public school students are also eligible to apply for the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation Scholarship. Students who are awarded the scholarship are eligible to receive up to $5000 per year, for up to five years to earn their baccalaureate degree. An independent, external committee will select scholarship recipients based on essays, transcripts and a letter of recommendation.
